Auditory Manifestations in Two Pediatric Cases with Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura

Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is a bleeding disorder not associated with a systemic disease, characterized by isolated thrombocytopenia (platelet count <150.000 u/L). ITP is the most frequent cause of thrombocytopenia in children and adolescents. It is an acquired autoimmune disease. Petechiae, ecchymosis and mucosal haemorrhages and epistaxis usually accompanies ITP. In addition, there may be middle ear and tympanic membrane problems that cause hearing loss. In this case report, we aimed to contribute to the literature with the auditory findings of two cases diagnosed with ITP.
