Histopatolojik incelemede olguya plevral SFT tanısı kondu. Yazımızda hemotoraks komplikasyonu ile başvuran plevranın dev soliter fibröz tümörü olgusunu paylaşmak istedik.

PLEURAL GIANT SOLITARY FIBROUS TUMOR THAT PRESENTED WITH HEMOTHORAX

Pleural Solitary Fibrous Tumor (SFT) is a rare and slow growing intrathoracic neoplasm which originates from submesenchymal cells of parietal or, more commonly, visceral pleura. A 67-year old woman presented with dyspnea and pain, x-ray and thoracentezis showed a massive hemothorax was drained by small boring catheter. And Computerized tomography (CT) showed a giant mediastinal mass connected to the pleura. The tumor was removed by left thoracotomy under the operation. Grossly, the tumor was lobulated, welldemarcated and mostly encapsulated. Its weight was 754 gr. and it measured 20x10x12 cm. The patient was diagnosed as pleural solitary fibrous tumor by hystopathologic examination. In this paper, a case of pleural giant solitary fibrous tumor was shared who presented with hemothorax.
