Suzuki Piyano Okulu Metodu

Suzuki Piano School Method

Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, the violin player and world-wide known teacher, has developed the Suzuki Method for teaching very young children to play the violin. He thought that through the discipline and training of learning to become a fine violinist, a society of fine individuals who would be able to prevent future wars would be developed. Dr. Haruko Kataoka began to research piano pedagogy according to Suzuki’s philosophy, and became instrumental in developing the Suzuki method for the piano. During the 1950s, Kataoka, Suzuki, and Shizuko Suzuki began to apply the “mother tongue” approach to the piano. In this article, the Suzuki Piano Method will be studied in terms of pedagogical aspect.
