Biochemical and Molecular Characterization of Lambda Cyhalothrin in Capoeta capoeta

In this study, it was aimed the effects of Lambda Cyhalothrin (LCT) on Capoeta capoeta (Guldenstaedt1773) caught from Kars river investigating by biochemical and molecular methods. The fishes, caught from Karsriver, were divided into 3 groups as 10 fishes in each group. The groups; control group (no application was applied),the fishes in I. group 0.012 µgL-1 LCT, II. groups of fishes 0.025 µgL-1 LCT included to the tanks; duration of theexperiment was 6 hours. At the end of this period, blood and liver tissue samples were taken from the fishes forbiochemical and molecular analyzes. According to spectrophotometric anlyses, no statistically difference werefound between the control and application groups for the levels of Glutathione (GSH) (P> 0.05). 8-Hydroxy-2’-Deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) levels were decreased in the LCT-treated groups compared to the control group (P<0.01). It was found that the expression levels of liver Glutathione S-transferase (GST), Glutathione peroxidase(GPx), Glutathione Reductase (GR), Catalase (CAT) and Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) enzymes were increasedcompared to control group according to RT-PCR method. As a conclusion, LCT showed toxic effects on Capoetacapoeta fish species. Accordingly, increased antioxidant enzyme levels in fish, reducing oxidative damage andDNA/RNA damage.
