Türkiye' de üniversite gençliğinin fast food tüketim tercihleri: Çukurova Üniversitesi örneği
Fast food tüketimini bir yaşam biçimi olarak benimseyen üniversite gençliğinin tüketim eğilimini belirleme amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmada, Çukurova üniversitesi öğrencilerinin önemli bir kısmının (%88.4) fast food lokantalarına gittiği belirlenmiştir. Fast food tüketmeyen erkek öğrencilerde yüksek fiyat, alışkanlık, ortamını beğenmeme; bayan öğrencilerde sağlık ve hijyen kaygıları temel neden olarak belirlenmiştir. Kampusun yerleşim yerlerinden uzak oluşu ve kampus içinde fast food sunan mekanların yeterince bulunması bu tür yiyeceklerin öğlen öğünlerinde daha fazla tercih edilmesine neden olmaktadır. Fiyatların düşük olması, daha kolay ulaşılabiliyor olması, yiyeceklerin duyumculuğunun yüksek olması, bölgenin damak zevkine uygun yiyecekleri değişik mekanlarda sunması nedenleriyle en çok geleneksel yiyecek sunan fast food mekanları tercih edilmektedir (%43,2). Bunu franchise sistemi dışında çalışan pizzacılar (%17,0) ve hamburgerciler (%14,8) izlemektedir
