Optik Uyarmalı Lüminesans (OSL) tekniği kullanılan yaş tayini çalışmalarında,örneklerin içinde bulunan potasyum miktarının bilinmesi gereklidir. Bu çalışmada arkeolojik ve jeolojik örnekler içindeki K miktarı $beta$ sintilasyon dedektörüne bağlı sayma sistemi kullanılarak tayin edilmiştir. İşlemler $alpha/ beta$ orantılı sayaç sayma sistemi ile tekrarlanmış ve nükleer yöntemlerden farklı spektroskopik incelemeler sonucu bulunanlarla karşılaştırılmıştır. Tahmin edilen doğruluk % 98 civarındadır.

It is necessary to know the potassium content in feldspar samples in connection with the OSL dating work. In this work, the K content in archaeological and geological samples were determined by using $beta$ scintillation detector which incorporates the sealer timer. The procedures were repeated by using $alpha/ beta$ proportional counters system and compared with the results found the other spectroscopic technique that is different from nuclear technique. The estimated accuracy is about 98 %.
