Herpes Zoster is a cutaneous viral infection of the skin that presents in a dermatomal distribution. It is rare to see herpes zoster in children and it differs from the elderly according to clinical findings. Children with herpes zoster have a mild course of the disease and the disease mainly affects the thoracic dermatomes. Pain before and during the presence of herpes zoster lesions and postherpeutic neuralgia is rarely found in pediatric patients. In contrast to the findings in adults, herpes zoster is a painless but a prurituc conditon in children. In this article because of its rare occurence, four cases of herpes zoster is presented in order to emphasize the characteristic clinical features of the disease during childhood.
