Değişik birçok faktörlerin etkili olduğu sanayi tesislerinde kuruluş yeri, her zaman ilgi çekmiş ve araştırmalara konu olmuştur. Sanayide kuruluş yeriyle ilgili gerek ekonomistler gerekse de coğrafyacılar tarafından bir takım teoriler üretilmiştir. Tüm bu teorilerde üretim ve pazarlama maliyetleri analiz edilerek ortalama maliyetler araştırılır ve kuruluş yerine etkisi bulunmaya çalışılır. Bu çalışmada yağ sanayi işletmesinin yer seçimi ham madde, pazar, ulaşım, kamu vb. faktörler göz önünde tutularak incelenmiş ve bunların getirdiği olumsuzluklar ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.

The location place for industrial areas has always been interested and has been a topic for reseaches. Some theories on location place for industrial areas were put forward both by economists and geographers. In these theories by analyzing production and marketing costs average cost is estimated and its effect on the location place is found. In this study location choice of. oil industry was investigated by taking into consideration raw material, market, transportation etc. And the negative sides of these factors were searched.
