Avian klamidiyozis

Avian Chlamydiosis

Avian chlamydiosis is a systemic, contagious, zoonotic disease, caused by the bacterium Chlamydophila psittaci occuring in domestic and wildfowl. C. psittaci has major importance for public health to be transmitted to humans. In this paper, the classification, general characteristics, isolation and identification methods, serotyping, treatment and control of Chlamydia were reviewed.
