Laser Applications in Pedodontics

Researches to use laser in the field of dentistry, has been ongoing since 1960s. The last 25 years developments of laser in parallel advances in the medical field and technological developments come in to prominence as a popular instrument used almost all areas of dentistry. In dentistry, lasers can be used various section such as recording blood flow in human dental pulp, tooth surface treatments, caries removal, vital pulp treatments, root canal disinfection, jaw and gingival surgery, aesthetic dentistry, depigmentation of gum, gingivoplasty, dentin hypersensitivity, maxillary sinusitis, treatment of aphthous ulcer, temporomandibular joint disorders, wound healing, achieve haemostasis, scaling, treatment of gingivitis, periodontitis and periimplantitis. In pedodontics, besides various advantages, lasers are thought an alternative to conventional treatments for minimize dental fear. The aim of this review is to give detailed information in the fields of pediatric dentistry
