Multidisiplinary Treatmen Approach in Existence of Multiple Supernumerary Teeth: A Case Report

Supernumerary teeth are developmental disturbance occurring during odontogenesis, whichleads to the formation of excessive number of teeth.Their most common site of occurrence is the maxillary anterior region and these are called ‘mesiodens’. In this case report management of 1 eruptedmesiodens and 2 impacted supernumerary teethwith its multidisiplinary approach is described. A12-year-old male non-syndromic patient consultedto the pediatric department with a complaint ofirregularity in his anterior region. As a result ofradiographical and clinical examination, 3 supernumerary teeth were seen. One of these teeth waserupted and the other two were impacted in themaxillary anterior region. Because of these supernumerary teeth maxillary right central incisor wasimpacted a multidisiplinary approach was adoptedfor the treatment. Impacted supernumerary teethand erupted mesiodens were surgically extracted, which helped the impacted tooth to erupt. After thetooth eruption, it was placed to correct position withthe help of orthodontic treatment
