A Location-Based Geography Game: Yer-KutuKeşfet (Instructional Geocaching)

In this study, the Instructional Geocaching game, which is not well known in educational environments, has been introduced and revealed the educational potentials of it. Instructional Geocaching, which is mostly described as a location-based geography game, is the educational use of Geocaching, which is used for recreational purposes and uses GPS technology in the world. Although it is possible to apply it in almost every discipline especially in Geography, there is not enough sample and academic study on the effects of Instructional Geocaching on learning. For this reason, learning theories and studies about the game were evaluated and then suggestions were made for the educators.
