Borçlanmayı Savunmak: Dış Borcun Bir Belirleyicisi Olarak Savunma Harcamaları

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı Türkiye ekonomisinin1971-2012 dönemine ilişkin verilerle savunmaharcamalarının dış borçlar üzerindeki etkileriniampirik olarak analiz etmektir. Sınır testi ve ARDLyaklaşımlarının kullanıldığı ampirik analizlerdenelde edilen sonuçlar Türkiye'nin savunmaharcamalarının dış borç değişkeni üzerinde kısa veuzun vadede pozitif yönlü etkiler yarattığınıgöstermektedir.

Defending the Debt: Def ence Expenditure as a Determinant of External Debt

The main purpose of this paper is to empiricallyinvestigate the impacts of def ence expenditure onexternal debt by the use of data related to 1971- 2012 period of Turkish economy. The empiricalresults, that are obtained through bound testprocedure and ARDL approach, indicate thatdef ence expenditures of Turkey create positiveeff ects on its external debt both in short and longrun.
