The investigation of effect of different doses of $PGF_{2alpha}$ applications on corpus luteum and follicular dynamic by ultrasonography and progesterone assay in dairy cows

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different doses of $PGF_{2alpha}$ on follicular dynamic and corpus luteum. In this study we used a total 40 Holstein cows and put them in 4 groups (n=10). Estrous day was regarded as day 0 and, the first 3 groups injected with different doses of $PGF_{2alpha}$. Group A was injected with single dose of $PGF_{2alpha}$, Group B was injected with a double amount of $PGF_{2alpha}$ injection at 7 hour interval and, Group C was injected with 1/3 proportions of $PGF_{2alpha}$ at 8 hour interval. Group D was not injected. Regression of corpus luteum and dominant follicle development were monitored by ultrasonography. Dominant follicle was first detected on day 4 or 5 and showed a linear development from that time on up to day 6, or 7 (p
