Removal of Cu(II) from aqueous solutions by using lemon peel

In this study removal of Cu(II) from aqueous solutions by using lemon peel was investigated. When limon peel was used as an adsorbent removal efficiency of Cu(II) was determined to be 83.3% at 150 rpm stirring speed and pH=7; optimum dosage of adsorbent was 0.04 g/L and adsorption efficiency at this dose was determined to be 95.76% .The optimum initial concentration of copper was 400 mg/L and at this concentration the adsorption efficiency reached the highest value (98.3%). Also 99% removal efficiency was reached when retention time was 120 minutes and temperature of 25 0C.
