Beş ülkeden anneler anlatıyor I: Anne-çocuk eğitim programı kimler için ve neden etkili?

Bu makale Anne-Çocuk Eğitim Programı’na (AÇEP) katılan annelerle yapılmış niteliksel bir araştırmanın sonuçlarını içermektedir. Amaç, AÇEP’e katılan annelerin özelliklerini, katılma nedenlerini, programın neden ve nasıl etkili olduğunu değerlendirmektir. Veriler derinlemesine mülakatla beş farklı ülkeden (Türkiye, Belçika, İsviçre, Bahreyn ve Suudi Arabistan) programa katılan 100 anneden toplanmıştır. Sonuçlar, programa katılan annelerin değişime açık ve kararlı kişiler olduklarını ve çocuklarını iyi yetiştirmek istediklerini göstermektedir. Annelerin katıldıkları grup sürecinin, çocukları ile yaptıkları Zihinsel Eğitim Programı ile ilgili deneyimlerinin ve öğretmenin AÇEP’in etkili olmasında önemli olduğu görülmüştür. Bunlara ek olarak, annelerin kendi çocuk yetiştirme tutumlarının programdakilerle karşılaştırılmasının ve annenin uygulamalar sırasında aldığı geribildirimler ve desteğin de önemli olduğu bulunmuştur. Programın farklı ülkelerdeki ihtiyacı karşıladığı ve benzer sonuçların alındığı görülmüştür.

Mothers reporting I: For whom and why is the mother-child education program effective?

This article presents the results of the qualitative research conducted with 100 mothers, all participants of Mother-Child Education Program, (from five different countries). The aim was to investigate the characteristics of the participant mothers, their reasons for participation, and why and how the program was effective. Data, collected through in-depth interviews, revealed that participant mothers were determined and open to change. Mothers’ experiences with the group process, the Cognitive Education Program, the teacher, comparison of mothers’ child rearing practices with those mentioned during the program, feedback and support received were important factors that contributed to the change. The program met the needs in different countries and similar results were obtained.
