Türkiye'nin sosyo-kültürel ve siyasal yapılanmasında önemli yapı taşlarından ve sorunlarından birini anadilleri oluşturmakta olup, anadilinde eğitim tartışmaları da bunun bir parçasıdır. Anadilinde eğitim konusu salt eğitimle sınırlı olmayıp, çoğulcu bir toplum ve toplumsal bütünleşme için de aciliyet oluşturmaktadır. Eğitim Sen yıllardır konuyla yakından ilgilenmekte, hem bilgi-veri oluşturmaya, hem de kamuoyunu bilgilendirmeye ve sonuçta sorunun çözümüne katkı sunmaya çalışmaktadır. Anadillerinin mevcut dağılımı ile halkın Anadillerinin Eğİtim-Öğretimi ve Anadillerinde Eğitim-Öğretime dair tutum ve görüşlerim tespite yönelik 2010 yılında 26 ilde 781 kişiyle gerçekleştirilmiş bu tarama da bu duyarlılığın bir parçası özelliğindedir.Araştırmanın ana bulgularından biri, Türkiye'nin başta Türkçe'nin ve devamında Kürtçe'nin en fazla konuşulduğu çokdilli ve çokkültürlü bir toplum olduğudur. Bununla birlikte, Türkçe dışındaki anadillerinde tek bir kuşakta bile ciddi bir asimilasyon yaşandığı görülmektedir. Ana bulgulardan bir diğeri de tüm yurtta anadilinin gerek eğitim-öğretimi, gerekse anadillerinde eğitim-öğretim konusunda genel bir kabulün bulunduğu; sorunun siyasal süreçte ve devlet katında çözümsüz hale getirildiğidir.Eğitim Sen'in önerisi, anadili eğitinı-öğretiminin ötesinde çiftdilli eğitime (Türkçe ile birlikte anadillerinde eğitim-öğretime) geçilmesi için bir an önce gerekli reformların yapılmasıdır.

Mother tongue is one of the most important issues and problems in socio-cultural and political construction of Turkey whose an important dimension in discussion on education of mother tongue of each language groups. The issue of language is not only limited with education, at the same time, it is a major problem for a pluralistic society and social integrations. The Education Union "Eğitim Sen" is interested in this subject for years to develop an gathering information-data, as well as trying to offer a public information and ultimately to contribute the problem solution. With this sensitivity,in 2010, a survey conducted with 781 peoples in 26 provinces aiming to measure the current distribution of mother tongues in Turkey, the people's attitudes and opinions about teaching of native languages and education in mother tongues.One of the main findings of this study is that Turkey is a multilingual and multicultural society. In addition, apart from Turkish language, Kurdish is the second largely speaking language. However, it has been observed that there is a serious assimilation of native languages other than Turkish language, even in a single generation. Other important findings of this research was that there is a general trend that majority of people have positive attitudes about teaching of native languages and mother tongues in public education. It has mainly become a problem in the political processes and in the state level.The union's proposal is to make necessary reforms as soon as possible in order to build bilingual/ multilingual education (education in both languages mother tongue as well as education in Turkish language together) beyond the teaching of mother tongues.
