Bu çalışmada B.Menderes nehri sularında bakteriyolojik parametreler olarak toplam koliform bakteri sayısı ile toplam aerob ve fakültatif anaerob heterotrofik bakteri sayısı, kimyasal parametre olarak da $NH_4-N$ 'u miktarları saptanmıştır. Bu amaçla B.Menderes nehrinin doğduğu yerden döküldüğü yere kadar yaklaşık 40 km aralıklarla nehri temsil eden 11 farklı noktadan 9 ay boyunca su örnekleri alınmıştır. Dokuz ayın ortalaması dikkate alındığında nehir sularında saptanan toplam koliform bakteri sayısı $233,8x10^2$ /100 ml-$37350x10^2$ /100 ml; toplam bakteri sayısı $1128x10^4$ /100 ml-$13712,22x10^4/100 ml; $NH_4-N$ 'u miktarı ise 12,19-75,20 mg/l arasında değişmiştir. Su Kirliliği Kontrolü Yönetmeliğine göre B.Menderes nehri sularının bakteriyolojik ve $NH_4-N$ 'u bakımından IV.sınıf bir su niteliği taşıdığı ortaya çıkmıştır.

In this study, the numbers of total coliform bacteria and total aerobic and facultative anaerobic heterotrophic bacteria as bacteriological parameters and amount of $NH_4-N$ as chemical parameters were determined in B.Menderes river. For this purpose, water samples were taken from 11 different points and at about 40 km intervals along B.Menderes river during 9 months. According to the average- values belonging to 9 months, the numbers of total coliform bacteria changed between $233,8x10^2$ /100 ml to $37350x10^2$ /100 ml, the numbers of total bacteria $1128x10^4$ /100 ml to $13712,22x10^4$ /100 ml, the amount of $NH_4-N$ -N 12,19 to 75,20 mg/1. According to the Water Pollution Control Regulations, it was brought out that the waters belonging to B.Menderes river were IV.Class waters in respect to bacteriological and the amount of $NH_4-N$.
