In this study, levels of copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn), which are serum transition metals, were studied in the host infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Twenty one healthy subjects (mean age = 35, 77±10, 54) (n = 21) negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and acid fast bacilli (ARB) in sputum for tuberculosis, and 19 non-treated patients with TB (n=19) (mean age = 31, 85±7,39) diagnosed by PCR and ARB etc. in sputum, and pleural, bronchial alveolar lavage and aspiration fluid were subjected to the study. Cu and Zn levels in serum were measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Cu levels in sera for the control groups and the patients were found to be 72.05±7.04 µg/100 mL and 68.33±4.66 µg/100 mL respectively, and statically there was a significant difference between them (p<0,05). Sera Zn levels for control groups and the patients were 62.00±7.86 µg/100 mL and 68.67 ± 5.84 µg/100 mL respectively, and there was no significant statistical difference between them (p>0,05)."> [PDF] Mikobakterium tüberkülozis'li olgularda serum çinko ve bakır düzeyleri | [PDF] Serum, zinc and copper levels in cases with Mycobacterium tuberculosis 0,05)."> 0,05).
