In Treatment dizisinde psikolojik danışmanlık etiğine ilişkin durumlar: Betimsel bir inceleme

Bu çalışmada, HBO kanalı dizilerinden In Treatment'ın birinci sezon bölümlerinin psikolojikdanışmanlık meslek etiği bakış açısıyla betimsel bir incelemesi yapılmıştır. ACA (2014) etikkodlarındaki kategorilerin rehberliğinde yapılan betimsel incelemeye göre, dizide en fazlasınırlar ve çift yönlü ilişkilerle ilgili etik durumlar gözlemlenmiş, ikinci sırada gizlilik veüçüncü sırada mesleki sorumluluk konularıyla ilgili etik durumlara rastlanmıştır. Dizidegözlemlenen bu etik durumlar, alan yazınındaki ilgili araştırma bulguları ışığındatartışılmıştır. In Treatment dizisinin Psikolojik Danışma ve Rehberlik lisans programlarındazorunlu ders olan Meslek Etiği ve Yasal Konular derslerinde ve lisansüstü meslek etiğiderslerinde yaşantısal bir öğrenme yöntemi olarak kullanılmasına yönelik önerilersunulmuştur

Ethical situations as observed on In Treatment: A Descriptive Content Analysis

This study presents a descriptive content analysis of the First Season of HBO TV Series InTreatment from a counseling ethics perspective. The descriptive content analysis guided bythe categories of ACA (2014) code of ethics showed that ethical situations regardingboundaries and dual relationships were the most prevalent on the show, followed by situationsinvolving confidentiality, and professional responsibility. Findings are discussed in the lightof previous research regarding the observed ethical issues in the show. Recommendationsregarding the show’s use as an experiential learning method in undergraduate and graduatecounseling ethics courses is proposed
