COVID-19 pandemi döneminde Plastik, Rekonstrüktif ve Estetik Cerrahi kliniğimizin değişim süreci

Amaç: COVID-19 salgını ve sonrasında sağlık sisteminde alınan kararlarla birlikte, sürecin kliniğimize olan etkisini incelemek için, salgın dönemi, bir önceki yılın aynı dönemi ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışmada kliniğimizde, 18 Mart 2020-30 Haziran 2020 tarihleri arasında ve 1 Temmuz 2020-18 Kasım 2020 tarihine kadar olan dönemlerde; yapılan operasyonlar, poliklinik ve acil hizmetleri bir önceki yılın aynı dönemleri ile retrospektif olarak karşılaştırıldı. Bulgular: Kısıtlamalarla birlikte, beklenildiği üzere, hasta başvurusunda büyük bir azalma görüldü. Tüm hasta bakıları ve operasyonlar kişisel koruyucu ekipmanlar sağlanarak gerçekleştirildi. Operasyonların öncesinde tüm hastalardan nazal sürüntü örneği gönderildi; çok acil vakalar ise test sonucu beklenmeksizin operasyona alındı. Acil operasyonların yanı sıra ertelenmemesi gereken malignite hastalarının da pandemi sürecinde tedavileri gerçekleştirildi. Normalleşme dönemiyle birlikte, daha önce randevu oluşturulan ancak kısıtlamalar nedeni ile iptal edilen vakalar öncelik sırası belirlenerek opere edildi. Sonuç: Pandemi süreciyle birlikte başta estetik vakaların başvurusu ve operasyonları olmak üzere elektif vakaların kısıtlanması ile poliklinik ve vaka sayısında büyük bir düşüş görüldü. Bu dönemde takip edilen hastalar ve yapılan cerrahi prosedürlerin genel olarak acil el cerrahisi operasyonları ve malignitelerden oluştuğu görüldü. Normalleşme ile birlikte vaka çeşitliliği artsa da, alınan Covid-19 tedbirleri nedeni ile geçen yıla göre vaka sayısının daha az olduğu görüldü.

THE CHANGE PROCESS OF OUR PLASTIC, RECONSTRUCTIVE AND AESTHETIC SURGERY CLINIC DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC PERIOD

Objective: Together with the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent decisions taken in the health system, the pandemic period was compared with the same period of previous year to examine the impact of this process on our clinic. Materials and Methods: A retrospective research of the medical records between March 19, 2020 to July 1, 2020 and between July 1, 2020 to November 18, 2020 was carried out and compared with the same time interval of 2019. Results: With the restrictions, as expected, there was a large reduction in patient admission. All patient care and operations were carried out by providing personal protective equipment. Nasal swab samples were sent from all patients before the operations; very urgent cases were taken into operation without waiting for the test result. In addition to emergency operations, malignancy patients who should not be postponed were also treated during the pandemic process. With the normalization period, cases for which appointments were made but canceled due to restrictions were operated by determining the priority order. Conclusion: Along with the pandemic process, the number of outpatients and cases decreased significantly with the restriction of the elective cases; especially the application and operations of aesthetic cases. It was observed that the patients followed up and surgical procedures performed during this period generally consisted of emergency hand operations and malignancies. Although the variety of cases increased with normalization, it was observed that the number of cases was less than previous year due to COVID-19 measures.
