İbnülemin Mahmud Kemal İnal yazmış olduğu biyografik mahiyette yazılı eserlerdeki yanlış ve farklı düşünceleri dile getirmiştir. Bazen de yanlışı tashih için başlı başına bir kitap da telif etmiştir. Bunun için Kamil Paşa'nın Sadareti ve Konak Meselesi adlı eseri en iyi örnektir. Herkesçe bilinen ve tanınan bazı tarihçilerin yalnız eserlerini değil bazen de olaylar karşısında aldıkları tavırları ve söylemiş oldukları sözleri de çekinmeden, açıkça eleştirmiştir. Bu eleştiri oklarından Ahmet Cevdet Paşa, Muallim Cevdet, Tarih-i Lütfi’yi yayımlayan meşhur tarihçi Abdurrahman Şeref efendi, Mehmet Zeki Pakalın, Mehmet Süreyya, Bursalı Mehmet Tahir, Fatin tezkiresi müellifi Davud Fatin Efendi ve diğerleri payını almıştır. Bu yazılanların sonradan yapılan araştırmalarda ne kadar dikkate alınıp alınmadığı araştırmaya değer ayrı bir çalışma konusudur.
