The main purpose of this study is to analyze the strategies used for subtitling allusions from English to Turkish in The Simpsons Movie, which is considerably rich in allusion. Leppihalme’s (1997) classification of the various translation strategies will be employed as a framework for the study. A quantitative analysis will be performed and several examples from the film that are included in the corpus will be discussed.
