Erkek bireylerde servikal vertebra kemik yaşının kronolojik ve iskelet yaş ile karşılaştırılması

Bu çalışmanın amacı sefalometrik radyografilerden elde edilen servikal vertebral kemik yaşının kronolojik ve iskelet yaş ile karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmesidir. Çalışma, yaşları 10-18 arasında değişen 150 erkek bireyden alınan sefalometrik ve elbilek filmi üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Yüzelli bireye ait sefalometrik film üzerinde 3. ve 4. servikal vertebraların gövde kısımlarındaki yükseklik ve genişlik ölçümlerini içeren parametreleri baz alarak değişik yaşlarda servikal vertebra kemik yaşını belirleyen bir regresyon formülü elde edildi. Bu formüle göre her bireye ait servikal vertebra yaşı hesaplandı. Bireylerin elbilek filmleri kullanılarak Greulich and Pyle yöntemine göre iskelet yaşları hesaplandı. Daha sonra bireylerin kronolojik yaşları hesaplanarak, her bireye ait kronolojik, iskelet ve servikal kemik yaşı arasındaki korelasyon incelendi ve yorumlanarak tartışıldı. Servikal vertebra yaşının iskelet kemik yaşına ve kronolojik yaşa yakın olarak maturiteyi yansıttığı görüldü.

The comparison of cervical vertebral bone age with chronological and skeletal ages in male subjects

The aim of this study was to compare the chronological and skeletal ages with cervical vertebral bone age which were obtained from cephalometric radiographs. The material of our study consisted of cephalograms and hand-wrist radiographs of 150 male patients whose chronological ages were between 10 and 18 years old.A regression equation was formulated which determines the cervical vertebral bone ages for different ages by parameters that include the height and wide measurements of corpus of third and fourth cervical bones from the lateral cephalometric radiographs obtained from 150 patients. With the usage of this formula the cervical bone ages were calculated for each patient. According to Greulich and Pyle method skeletal ages of patients were calculated by using hand-wrist radiographs. In addition, chronological ages were determined for each patient and the correlation between chronological, skeletal and cervical bone ages were examined and discussed. The results have shown that the cervical vertebral bone age reflects the maturity as much as skeletal bone ages and chronological age did.
