Orta Doğu ve özelliklede Lübnan tarihi açısından Maruni tarih yazıcılığının büyük bir önemi vardır. Özellikle Haçlı ve Memlük dönemleri ile ilgili araştırma yapmak isteyen araştırıcılar için Maruni tarih yazıcılığı, önemli bir materyal kaynak durumundadır. Maruniler arasında ilk defa bilimsel anlamda tarih yazıcılığı, Maruni tarihinin babası olarak bilinen Duveyhi ile başlamıştır. İn this article, we will study the life and works of İstefan ed-Duwayhi who is one of the most important characters of the Maronite historiography and who comes from the tarditional clerical.
