Primary mucinous adenocarcinoma of the urinary bladder: A case report
Primary adenocarcinoma of bladder is a very rare condition and represents less than 2% of all bladder tumors. Histologically it can be mucinous, signet ring cell or clear cell. They have poor prognosis because of their aggressive nature and advenced stages at the diagnosis. A 42-year-old male was admitted to the Çukurova University, Medical Faculty with the complaint of hematuria. Abdominal CT had revealed a mass, 3x5 cm in size, which was localised at the dome and the anterior wall of the bladder. A histologie diagnosis of mucinous adenocarcinoma was made on transuretral resection and was confirmed by surgical specimen. No other primer site was found during the routine examination. We present a primary mucinous adenocarcinoma of the urinary bladder because of its rare localisation and discuss the pathological features on the base of literature.
