Çocuklarda üreteral obstrüksiyonun ender bir nedeni: Retrokaval üreter

Retrokaval (sirkumkaval) üreter, ender görülen bir genitoüriner sistem anomalisidir. Venöz sistemin embriyolojik gelişiminde ortaya çıkan bir duraklamaya bağlı olarak üreterin, normal anatomik seyrinden farklı bir şekilde vena kava inferiorun posteriorundan veya çevresinden dönerek ilerlemesine bağlı olarak gelişmektedir. Tanısı genellikle üçüncü ve dördüncü dekatlarda konulabilmektedir. Semptomları, üreteral obstrüksiyonun ve buna bağlı gelişen hidronefrozun derecesine bağlı olup, semptomatik vakalarda cerrahi müdahaleye ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.

Retrocaval ureter as a rare cause of ureteral obstruction in children

Retrocaval (circumcaval) ureter is a rare congenital anomaly of the genitourinary tract. It is a developmental anomaly of the venous system where the ureter courses dorsally or partially encircles the abnormal inferior vena cava. It usually manifests in the third or fourth decades. Symptoms are due to ureteral obstruction and resulting hydronephrosis. Surgical correction is needed in symptomatic cases.
