Müzik eğitiminde genel olarak, toplumların müzik kültürünün oluşturul-ması, geliştirilmesi ve çağdaş düzeyde ulusal müzik zevkinin yaygınlaştı-rılması hedeflenmektedir. Bu hedefin gerçekleştirilmesi yönünde, okulönce-sinden yüksek öğrenim sonuna kadar eğitimin her aşamasında, müzik der-sine yönelik etkinliklerde amaç; öğrencilerin seslerini, işitme yeteneklerini, müzik yapma becerilerini ve yaratıcılıklarını artırarak, müziksel gelişimleri-ni sağlamaktır. Örgün eğitimin temeli olan okulöncesi ve ilköğretim döneminde, müzik ders ve etkinliklerinin en önemlisi “ses eğitimi” dir. Ses eğitiminde, çocukların doğal seslerini, ses sağlığını koruyarak, en doğru şekilde kullanmalarını ve şarkı söylemekten zevk almalarını sağlamak temel amaçtır. Bu amacı gerçek-leştirmede müzik öğretmenlerine önemli görev ve sorumluluklar düşmekte-dir. Bu bağlamda, müzik öğretmeni adaylarının gelecekte eğitimlerinden so-rumlu oldukları öğrencilere yönelik; ses özellikleri, ses sağlığının korunma-sı, şarkı repertuarı ve ses eğitimi yöntem ve teknikleri konularında yeterli eğitimden geçirilmeleri ve etkili bir ses eğitimi hizmeti verebilecek donanı-ma sahip olmaları, onlara sunulacak nitelikli bir eğitim anlayışıyla sağlana-bilir. Bu nedenle, müzik öğretmenliği lisans programının bu açıdan işlevsel olması büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu gerekçeler doğrultusunda araştırmanın amacı, okulöncesi ve ilköğretim döneminde çocuklara yönelik ses eğitiminin önemini ele alarak değerlendirmek ve önerilerde bulunmaktır.

Generally, in music education, creating a music culture for societies and spreading a national music taste in contemporary level are being aimed. Towards realizing this goal in every level from preschool to the end of higher education, the purpose of the activities in music lesson is to enhance students’ voices, hearing abilities, musical skills, their creativity, and to provide their musical development. In preschool and primary educations, which are the basis of formal education, the most important music activity and lesson is “voice training”. In voice training, the main purpose is to provide children to use their natural voices, in the most accurate way with preserving their voice health and to provide them to enjoy from singing. Music teachers have an important task and responsibilities to realize this goal. In this context, an eligible education approach which will be offered to music teacher candidates can provide them to have a sufficient training and education in the subjects of voice properties, preserving voice health, song repertory, voice training methods and techniques and can provide them to be equipped in a way letting them give an effective voice training service to their future students. For this reason, music teacher undergraduate program’s functionality is of great importance in this respect. In the light of these facts, the aim of the research is to assess the importance of the voice training for children in preschool and primary school period and to provide suggestions.
