Amaç: Bu çalışma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin sorunlarını belirlemek ve öğrencilerin hemşirelik eği- timine ve mesleğine yönelik beklentilerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Tanımlayıcı nitelikte olan bu araştırma Kasım 2010 tarihinde yapılmıştır. Araş- tırmanın örneklemini 191 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Veriler araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan an- ket formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzdelik, aritmetik ortalama ve standart sapma testleri kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Hemşirelik mesleğinin sorunlarına yönelik olarak öğrencilerin % 90.1i hemşirelikte ata- ma sorunu olduğunu, %86.4ü hemşire sayısının yetersiz olduğunu, % 84.3ü çalışma koşullarının kötü ve zor olduğunu ifade etmiştir. Öğrencilerin %92.7si mesleğe ait dernekler kurulması ve her- kesin üye olmasının sağlanması, %86.4ü topluma mesleğin tanıtılması gerektiğini ifade etmiştir. Öğrencilerin %82.7si hemşirelerin görev ve sorumluluklarının belirleneceğini, %68.6sı çalışma ko- şullarının iyileşeceğini beklediklerini; % 86.4ü uygulamalarda öğrencilerin görev ve sorumlulukla- rının daha iyi belirleneceğini, % 74.6sı sadece fakülte düzeyinde eğitim verileceğini ifade etmiştir. Sonuç: Öğrencilerin çoğunun hemşirelik eğitimine ve hemşirelik mesleğine yönelik beklentilerinin olduğu saptanmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Hemşirelik; Eğitim; Öğrenciler

Objective: This study was done to define the problems of nursing students and to define the expectations of students about the nursing education and its profession. Material and methods: This descriptive study was done on Nowember 2010. The study sample size comprised of 191 students . Data was collected using questionnaire form that was prepared by the researchers. Percentage, aritmetic average and standard deviation tests were used in the evaluation of data. Results: The problems expressed by the nursing students were; 90.1% nursing assignment, 86.4% insufficient number of nurses, 84.3% stated that working conditions were poor and difficult. The solutions expressed were; 92.7 % stated the establisment of secured the memberships, 86.4% stated the proper introduction of profession to society. The hopes stated were; 82.7 % duties and responsibilits of nurses to be determined, 68.6 % working conditions of nurses woud get better; 86.4 % duties and responsibilities of them would be determined in practice and 74.6 % of them explained that it will be simply educated in the faculty. Conclusion: It was fixed that most of the students have hopes related to nursing education and profession. Key words: Nursing; Education; Students
