BAZI SOSYO-DEMOGRAFİK ÖZELLİKLER AÇISINDAN DİYABETLİ BİREYLERİN PSİKOSOSYAL UYUM DÜZEYLERİ ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA A Research on Psychosocial Adjustment Levels of Individuals with Diabetes in Terms of Some Sociodemographic Features
ÖZETAmaç: Bu araştırma cinsiyet, eğitim durumu, aile tipi, gelir, meslek, yaşanılan yer, hanede yaşayankişi gibi birtakım sosyodemografik özelliklerin diyabetli bireylerin psikososyal uyum düzeylerineetkisi olup olmadığını incelemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Çankırı Devlet Hastanesi İç Hastalıkları Polikliniğine 03.03.2015- 15.06.2015tarihleri arasında başvuran ve araştırmanın içerme kriterlerini sağlayan 93 diyabetli birey araştırmayadahil edilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak Katılımcı Bilgi Formu ve Psikososyal Uyum-Öz BildirimÖlçeği kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS paket programı aracılığı ile Mann-WhitneyU, Kruskal-Wallis ve Spearman testleri kullanılmıştır.Bulgular: Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen verilere göre erkekler kadınlara göre daha iyi birpsikolojik uyuma sahiptir. Yaş ilerledikçe psikolojik uyum artmaktadır. Hanede yaşayan kişi sayısıarttıkça hastaların sağlık bakımı, aile çevresi, sosyal çevre, psikolojik alan ve genel psikososyaluyumu kötüye gitmektedir. Emekliler sağlık bakımına uyumda daha az sorun yaşarken mesleğiniserbest meslek olarak bildirenler sağlık bakımına uyumda daha çok sorun yaşamaktadır.Psikolojik uyumda yine emeklilerin oldukça iyi bir düzeyde olduğu görülürken herhangi bir işteçalışmayanların psikolojik alan uyumlarının kötü olduğu bulunmuştur (p<.05).Sonuç: Yaş, cinsiyet, hanede yaşayan kişi sayısı ve icra edilen meslek diyabetli bireylerin psikososyaluyumunu etkileyen değişkenler arasında yer almaktadır.Anahtar Sözcükler: Diyabet; Psikososyal uyum; Sağlık psikolojisi.ABSTRACTObjectives: This research is carried out to examine the effects of some sociodemographicfeatures like gender, education, family type, income, occupation, living place and number ofhousehold on the psychosocial adjustment levels of people with diabetes.Material and Methods: 93 diabetic individuals who met the inclusion criteria of the researchand applied to the Outpatient Clinic of Internal Disease in Çankırı State Hospital between thedates of 03.03.2015 and 15.06.2015 participated in the research. Data were collected using ademographic data sheet and the Psychosocial Adjustment to Illness Scale-Self Report (PAIS-SR).In the analysis Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis and Spearman’s Correlation were used.Results: Results indicated that men had beter psychological adjustment to illness than women.Advanced age was related with beter psychological adjustment. Number of people living inhouse was negatively associated with healthcare orientation, domestic environment, socialenvironment, psychological distress and pschosocial adjustment. Retired participants hadfewer problems in the domain of healthcare orientation than self-employed participants. Whileretired participants had beter adjustment in the domain of psychological distress, non-workingparticipants had poor adjustment to psychological distress.Conclusion: Age, gender, number of people living in the house and occupationare of variablesthat affect the psychosocial adjustment of people with diabetes.Keywords: Diabetes; Psychosocial adjustment; Psychology of health
