Johannes Brahms, Alman müzik tarihinin en önemli bestecilerinden aynı zamanda romantik dönemin en tanınmış sanatçılarındandır. Romantizmin yanısıra barok ve klasik dönemin onun yaratıcılığı üzerindeki etkileri, Brahms’ı neo klasik besteci sınıfına dahil etmiştir. Bach ve Beethoven, Brahms’ın en çok etkilendiği bestecilerden olup eserlerindeki müzikal yapı ve form biçimlerinde, bu etkiler net biçimde karşımıza çıkar. Beethoven’ın senfonilerine duyduğu saygı senfonik müziğe başlamasını geciktirmiş, bestecilerin yaş ortalamalarına kıyasla daha geç yaşlarda 1. senfonisini bestelemiştir. Bu çalışma sanatçının Brahms’ın müziğini ve dönemini daha iyi kavramasını sağlayarak, icracıya teknik ve donanımsal katkıda bulunmasını amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada eserin besteleniş sürecine değinilmiş, müzikal analiz yapılmış ve eserdeki obua soloları teknik ve yapısal olarak incelenerek çalma önerileri sunulmuştur.

Johannes Brahms is one of the most important composers in the history of German music and one of the most recognized artists of the Romantic period. In addition to his romanticism, the influence of the baroque and classical periods on his creativity has placed Brahms in the class of neo-classical composers. Bach and Beethoven are among the composers Brahms was most influenced by, and these influences are evident in the musical structure and forms of his works. His respect for Beethoven's symphonies delayed his entry into symphonic music, and he composed his first symphony at a later age than the average age of composers. This study aims to provide the performer with a better understanding of Brahms's music and period, and to contribute to support the technique and musicality of the performer. In the study, the composition process of the work is mentioned, musical analysis is made and the oboe solos in the work are analyzed technically and structurally and playing suggestions are presented.
