Adsorption of Nickel(II) Ions from Aqueous Solution onto Granular Activated Carbon

In this study, the adsorption of Ni(II) ions from aqueous solution on granular activated carbon was investigated. At the studies, the effects of the pH of solution, equilibrium time and temperature on adsorption were investigated and the isotherm constants were calculated by using Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. The kinetic data were analyzed using pseudo first order and pseudo second order models. According to results; it was found that the adsorption of Ni(II) ions was maximum at pH=5. It was observed that adsorption reached equilibrium in 24 hours and the kinetic data well fitted to pseudo second order model
