The effects of platelet derived growth factor upon the structure, functions and growth

Platelets in mammals and trombocytes in avian are the blood cells, as both playing roles in the coagulation. Platelet derived growth factor, PDGF, as firstly expressed in the platelets, is a member of the family of growth factors. It has many functions such as cell proliferation, chemotaxis, tissue formation and wound healing in prenatal and postnatal periods. Therefore, the aim of this review was to evaluate the effects of PDGF upon the structural proporties, functions and growth.
