Millî birlik ve beraberlik üzerine asırlardır çok şey söylenmiş ve yazılmıştır. Bu âmeliye, kim bilir, daha ne kadar devam edecektir? Bazı şeylerin te’sisi hem çok zor, hem de oldukça basittir. Birlik ve beraberlik de bunlardan biridir. Bir niyet, bir anlayış, bir vicdan mes'elesİ. Tarihî gerçeklerden ibret alınır ise, gerçekleştirilmesi gayet basittir. Ancak nedense, biz millet olarak çoğu zaman zor olanı tercih etmişizdir. Bu, belki de bir hasletimiz veya bir erdem göstergesi. Ancak bazı hallerde kendimizi zora koşmanın âlemi yoktur. Zira başkaları gibi biz de buna, hem de millî olanına her devirde muhtacız. Üstelik bu bir zarurî ihtiyaç. Hazır elimizde fırsat varken böylesine hayatî ehemmiyeti hâiz bir ihtiyacımızı zamanında telâfi etsek çok daha iyi olur.

Much has been said and written about national unity and centuries for centuries. Who knows how long it will go to this realm? The te of some things is both very difficult and quite simple. Unity and togetherness are one of them. It is a matter of intention, understanding, conscience. It is quite simple to realize if historical facts are taken. However, for some reason, we, as the nation, often preferred the difficult one. This may be an indication of our illness or virtue. However, in some cases, there is no realm of running ourselves into trouble. Because, like everybody else, we need it, as well as the national one, in every era. Moreover, this is an essential requirement. It would be much better if we had such a vital importance when we had the opportunity at hand, to compensate for our need in time.
