Güvercinkayası Damga Mühür ve Mühür Baskıları

ÖZET Güvercinkayası (Aksaray-Gülağaç) Çatalsu Köyünün 1 km batısında, Melendiz Suyunun sağ kıyısında yer almaktadır. Güvercinkayası, 1964 yılından itibaren Mamasun baraj Gölü içinde kalır. Yerleşmenin doğu terası ve kuzey eteği su erozyonu nedeniyle yoğun tahribata uğramıştır. S. Gülçur başkanlığında 1996 yılından beri devam eden kazı çalışmalarında yerleşmede bir öncü evre ve üç ana tabaka saptanmış- tır. Bunlardan I-II. tabakalar (1-6 yapı evreleri) Orta Kalkolitik, III.

ABSTRACT Güvercinkayası (Gülağaç-Aksaray) is situated one km west of the village of Çatalsu, on the right bank of Melendiz river. Since 1964, Güvercinkayası becomes an island in the Mamasun Dam reservoir. The eas- tern terrace and northern slope of the settlement has been badly eroded by the water erosion. Three main layers with a pioneer phase has been detected during the ongoing excavations of the site, began in 1996 under the direction of S. Gülçur. The main Ist. and IInd. layers of the settlement with 6 building phases have been dated to the Middle Chalcolithic and the IIIrd. layer to the Late Chalcolithic period. The IIIrd. layer in Güvercinkayası is indicated a new period and a foreign impact from outsite of the region. This impact reflects itself also by the new architectural horizon or the characteristics of the pot- tery and the small findings of the related layer. In this paper, the aim is defining the iconographical and chronological relations of stamp seals and sealings of IIIrd. Layer, by studying the technical and stylistic features. The main goal is to identify the relations detecting the the relations between III rd layer of Gü- vercinkayası and East Anatolia- North Mesopotamia. Also, first impressions on architectural and pottery findings are added, in order to give an idea on the general picture of the IIIrd layer which provide new data for the discussions on Ubaid Impact of the late Fifth Millennium.
