Polipolid skrotal kalsinozis: Literatürün gözden geçi4ilmesi ile birlikte bir vakanın takdimi

Skrotal kalsinozis, skrotum cildinde multipl küçük kalsifik nodül gelişimi ile karakterize nadir görülen bir hastalıktır. Çoğu yazar tarafından idiyopatik kabul edilen bu kalsiyum depozisyonu, bazıları tarafından ise epidermal kistlerin distrofik kalsifikasyonu olarak kabul edilmektedir. Medline taraması yapıldığı zaman; skrotum cildinde büyük polipoid yapılar şeklinde klinik bulgu veren sadece iki idiyopatik skrotal kalsinozis vakasının günümüze kadar bildirildiğini görürüz. Bununla birlikte, bizim olgumuzdaki lezyonların histopatolojik incelemesi, kalsifikasyon odaklarının çevresinde belirgin kistik epitelyal yapının olmaması ve hücresel reaksiyonun çok az olması nedeniyle önceki yayınların aksine; etyolojide "epidermal kistlerin distrofik kalsifikasyonu" hipotezini düşündürtmemektedir.

Polypolid scrotal calcinosis: Report of a case with review of literature

Scrotal calcinosis is a rare condition characterized by multiple calcified small nodules within scrotal skin. While many authors have considered this calcium deposition to be idiopathic, others have accepted as dystrophic calcification of epidermal cysts. When the Medline was checked; we see that, only two cases of idiopathic scrotal calcinosis were documented which had clinical signs of large polypoid lesions within scrotal skin. In addition, in contrast with previous reports, the histopathological evaluation of the lesions in our case does not support "dystrophic calcification of epidermal cysts" hypothesis, as the absence of cystic epithelial lining surrounding calcified deposits and the presence of little cellular reaction were observed.
