İki lingual multinodüler guatr olgusu

Yutma güçlüğü, boğaz ağrısı, hemoptizi ve boğazda kitle yakınmaları ile başvuran 47 ve 30 yaşlarındaki iki kadın olgu sunulmaktadır. Her iki olguda da bilgisayarlı tomografide lingual lokalizasyonda, preepiglottik yağ dokusuna uzanan kitleler saptandı. Birinci olguda, yoğun patolojik kontrastlanma saptanırken, ikinci olguda kontrastlanma görülmemiş ve çevresel kalsifikasyon dikkati çekmiştir. Normal lokalizasyonlarında tiroid dokusu saptanmayan olgularda lingual kitlelere total eksizyon yapıldı. Histopatolojileri multinodüler guatr ile uyumlu idi. Literatürde, şimdiye kadar histopatolojileri multinodüler guatr olan yalnızca iki lingual tiroid ektopi olgusu bulunduğundan nadir rastlanan bu olgular dikkat çekicidir.

Two cases of lingual multinodular goiter

Two female patients (aged 47 and 30 years) who applied with the complaints of dysphagia, sore throat, hemoptysis, and a mass in the throat have been reported. The computed tomography evaluation of both patients indicated lesions with lingual location, extending to the preglottic fat tissue. In the first patient, prominent contrast enhancement was observed, while in the second patient, no contrast enhancement was detected but surrounding calcification was noted. The lingual lesions of the patients, which were at the normal location contained no thyroid tissue, were totally removed. Their histopathological results were compatible with multinodular goiter. Literature presents reports of only two cases of lingual thyroid ectopia with multinodular goiter based on the histopathological findings. Thus, the rare cases reported here are noteworthy.
