Pozitif Yansılama ve Psikolojik Sağlık

Yanılsama mevcut gerçeğin çarpıtılarak yorumlanmasıdır ve araştırmalar sağlıklı insanların hem kendileri hem de çevreleri hakkındaki değerlendirmelerinde yaygın olarak olumlu bir yanlılık eğilimi sergilediklerini göstermiştir. Gerçekdışı olumlu benlik algısı, abartılmış kontrol algısı ve gerçekdışı iyimserlik olarak betimlenebilecek pozitif yanılsamaların bireylerin mutluluğu, ikili ilişkileri, çalışma davranışları, kariyer kararlan ve stresle mücadele yöntemleri gibi yaşamın çeşitli alanlarında olumlu olduğu kadar olumsuz sonuçlarının da gözlenebileceği ve söz konusu bu olumlu yanlılık eğiliminin bireyin genel olarak psikolojik sağlığını etkilediği ileri sürülmektedir. Bu makalede pozitif yanılsama kavramının ayrıntılı bir şekilde tanıtılması ve gerçek yaşam olayları bağlamında psikolojik sağlığa yaptığı katkılar ile getirdiği bedellerin tartışılması amaçlanmıştır.

Positive Illusion and Psychological Health

Illusion is distorted interpretation of present reality and research demonstrated that healthy individuals exhibit a positive illusion about themselves and their environment. Positive illusion which is described as irrealistical positive self-perception, exaggerated control perception and irrealistic optimism, can have both negative and positive results on different domains of life (i.e. happiness, intimate relationships, working life, career decisions and coping with stress). It is also claimed that positive illusion effects in general personal psychological health. In this article it is aimed to explain the concept of positive illusion in detail and discuss its contributions and damages in the context of life-events.
