Bu çalışmada Kentsel Heterotopya kitabı incelenmiş ve ana hatlarıyla ortaya konulmuştur. Modern kentin temel özelliklerini, zorluklarını ve değişimlerini ortaya koyan bu kitapta özgürlüğün mümkün olup olmadığı konusu tartışılmaktadır. Metropolün ritmi, ahengi ve yaşam pratiklerinin yanı sıra modern mekânın kaosu ve düzensizliği de ele alınmaktadır. Aynı zamanda modern dünyada meydana gelen adacık ve eşik mekanlarının farklılıklarına değinilmektedir.
