Bu makale, Suudi Arabistan’daki Ḳaṣṣīm Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi öğretim üyelerinin bakış açısından müftü için gerekli bilişsel, performans ve etik yetkinlikleri açıklamayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu çalışma, müftü için gerekli yetkinlikleri belirlemek için endüktif yöntem kullanmakta ve öğretim üyelerinin bakış açısından bu yetkinliklerin ihtiyaç derecesini belirlemek amacıyla bir araç olarak anket kullanmaktadır. Çalışma, müftü için gerekli olan 79 yetkinlik belirlemekte; bunların % 91'inin yüksek ve çok yüksek derece, % 9'unun orta derecede olduğunu tesbit etmektedir. Sonuçlar, örnekleme dahil olan katılımcıların arasında, akademik rütbe, branş ya da deneyimlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar göstermemektedir.

This study aims to explain cognitive, ethical and performative competencies with which a mufti is required to be equipped according to the professors of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Qassim University, Saudi Arabia. The study used inductive method to determine the required competencies for the mufti and utilized questionnaires as a tool to determine the degree of need for the competencies from the point of view of the faculty members. This article identifies 79 competencies that are necessary for the mufti. The questionnaires show 91% of the competencies to be of high and very high degree of necessity while 9% of them medium degree. The results show no statistically significant differences in the classification of the competencies according to the academic rank or experience of the members of the sample.
