Bilgi İletişim Teknolojileri ve İnternet'le Kolaylaşan Akademik Usulsüzlük

İnternet, bir yandan bilimin gelişmesine katkıda bulunurken diğer yandan da usulsüz davranışların ortaya çıkmasına zemin hazırlamaktadır. Yapılan araştırmalar İnternet’in akademik usulsüzlüğü tetiklediğini, desteklediğini ve yaygınlaştırdığını göstermektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı İnternet’le kolaylaşan akademik usulsüzlük (e-usulsüzlük) kavramını derinlemesine ele alarak ortaya çıkabilecek durumlara ilişkin farkındalık bilinci oluşturmak ve çözüm önerileri geliştirmektir. Bu bağlamda akademik usulsüzlük kapsamı içerisine giren alt boyutlar, akademik usulsüzlüğün yaygınlığı, BİT ile gelişen e-usulsüzlük kavramı ve bu konuda alınabilecek önlemler tartışılmıştır.

Academic Dishonesty: Getting Easier with Internet and ICT

Internet serves as a ground for academic misdemeanors while it also contributes to the development of science. Research studies show that Internet facilitates triggers and spreads academic dishonesty. The purpose of the current study is to scrutinize the notion of academic dishonesty facilitated through Internet (e-dishonesty), to raise awareness regarding the threats of e-dishonesty and to propose solutions. In this respect, factors constituting academic dishonesty, the prevalence of academic dishonesty, academic dishonesty facilitated through ICT and precautions to be taken are discussed.
