Psikiyatri kliniğinde tedavi edici ortam kavramı ve hemşirenin sorumlulukları

Tedavi edici ortam psikiyatride yatan hastaların hastanede yatma sürecinden en iyi şekilde yararlanmalarını sağlayacak önemli bir unsurdur ve psikiyatri hemşirelerinin aktivitelerinin de temelini oluşturur. Tedavi edici ortam terimi, ortamdaki tüm kaynakların en ideal bakımı sağlayacak şekilde hasta için düzenlenip kullanıldığı atmosferi tanımlamak için kullanılır. Tedavi edici ortamın unsurları, emniyet, yapı, normlar, sınırlar, denge ve esnekliktir. Hemşireler tedavi edici ortamın şekillendiricisi, yöneticisi ve kullanıcısıdırlar. Bu nedenle, klinik ortamın terapötık ya da nonterapötik oluşu hemşirelerin becerilerine ve ilgili olmasına bağlıdır.

Therapeutic milieu in a psychiatric ward and the responsibilities of nurses

Achieving the principles of therapeutic milieu is essential component of hospitalization period in which the patients take advantage to meet their needs. Therapeutic milieu is the base of activities of psychiatric nurses. This term are used to describe the atmosphere in which all the resources should be arrange for providing optimal care for patients. The major components of therapeutic milieu are security, structure, norms, limits, balance and flexibility. Nurses are the shapers, leaders and users of the milieu. So, being therapeutic or non therapeutic of the milieu depends on nurse's skills and interests.
