Turgut Uyar, mesleği nedeniyle yaşadığı Anadolu köy ve kasabalarında halk kültürünü tanıma şansı bulmuştur. Bu dönemlerin ve köy yaşantısına duyduğu sempatinin etkisiyle şiirlerinde halka ait unsurlara yer vermiştir. Bu çalışmada Turgut Uyar’ın 1947-1952 yılları arasında yazdığı şiirlerde bulunan halk kültürüne ait unsurlar tematik araştırma metoduyla incelenmiştir. Kullanılan unsurların nicel ve nitel çözümlemeleri yapılmıştır. Bu çözümlemeler ışığında halk kültürü unsurlarının şiirlerde yaptığı etki değerlendirilmiştir. Kaynak olarak Turgut Uyar’ın eserleri kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı: Turgut Uyar’ın Türk halkına yakınlığını göstermektir. Turgut Uyar’ın Türk halkına yakınlığını göstermek için ise şiirlerinde kullandığı halk kültürüne ait unsurlar tespit edilmiştir. Tespit edilen bu unsurlar aracılığıyla Turgut Uyar’ın şiir anlayışına farklı bir boyut kazandıracak sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Turgut Uyar’ın zannedildiği gibi halktan ve halk kültüründen uzak olmadığı anlaşılmıştır. 

Turgut Uyar seized the opportunity to get acquainted with the folk culture of Anatolian towns and villages he lived at due to his assignments. As a result of his positive feelings towards the village life and the influences of those times, he gave coverage to the folk elements in his poems. In this study, the elements regarding the folk culture in Turgut Uyar’s poetry in the years 1947-1952 have been examined with the thematic research method. Quantitative and qualitative analyses of the aforementioned elements have been accomplished. In light of these analyses, the impact of the folk culture elements over the poetry has been evaluated. The literary Works of Turgut Uyar have been used as a source. The main purpose of this work is to demonstrate Turgut Uyar’s fondness of the Turkish people. The elements of the folk culture have been underlined in order to display Turgut Uyar’s affection for the Turkish people. And with the help of such elements, results that may add a different dimension to Turgut Uyar’s approach to poetry have been achieved. In this way, it has been understood that Turgut Uyar was not at all distant to the Anatolian people or the folk culture.
