Tarihsel olguları sebep-sonuç ilişkisi içerisinde, ampirik verilere dayanarak açıklamaya çalışan İbn Haldun önemli bir tarih felsefecisi ve toplumbilimcidir. İbn Haldun Mukaddime isimli kitabında toplumların yükselme ve çöküşünde etkili olan unsurları incelemiştir. 14. Asrın İslam coğrafyasında çeşitli karışıklıklar içinde olduğu bir dönemde, tasavvuf ve selefilik arasındaki gerilimlere şahit olan İbn Haldun, bir toplumbilimci ve din bilgini olarak kendi görüşlerini dile getirmiştir. Bu makalede İbn Haldun’un Mukaddime ve Şifaü’s-Sail isimli eserlerinde tasavvuf ilmine bakış açıları analiz edilmeye çalışılacaktır. Bu iki eserde ortaya konan ortak ve farklı bakış açıları incelenerek bugün İslam Âlemi’nde temel tartışma konularından biri olan tasavvufun hem dini ilimler içindeki hem de tarihsel ve toplumsal konumu tartışma konusu yapılacaktır. Zahir ve batın diyalektiğinde tasavvuf ilminin dayandığı temel referans noktaları, birey ve toplum diyalektiğinde toplumsal kurumlara ve değerlere etkisi incelenmeye çalışılacaktır

İbn Haldun who tries to express the historic phenomenon by the relationship of reason and result based on empiric data is an important philosopher of history and sociologist. He studied the facts of societies’ rising and collapsing in his book “Mukaddime”. İbn Haldun who witnessed the tension between Sufism and Salafism uttered his thoughts as a sociologist and a theologist in 14th century. In that time there were variety of chaos in slam Geography. In this article, Ibn Haldun’s viewpoint to Sufism in Mukaddime and Şifaü’s Sail will be analysed. By examining the similar and the different viewpoints in these two books, Sufism’s place among Islamic Sciences and the historic and social position which is one of the basic point at issues in Islam will be disgusted. Basic reference points of Sufism in zaheer dialectics and the West, the effect to social institutions and values in the dialectics of individual and society will be examined
