Gastric Signet-Ring Cell Adenocarcinoma in a Dog
Gastric Signet-Ring Cell Adenocarcinoma in a Dog
Gastric tumors seen in dogs are highly malignant, but they are not common tumor types. Dogs 10 years and older are more prone to the disease. Although the cause of the disease is not well known, there may be some predisposing factors. A mass in the stomach was detected by an endoscopic examination performed on a 10-year-old, female, golden retriever dog, which was brought to the clinic with complaints of nonspecific gastrointestinal disease. The patient was diagnosed with gastric signet-ring cell carcinoma in the cytological and histopathological examinations, which was performed using a biopsy taken from the lesion by endoscopy.
