Amaç: Bu çal›flmada, nörolojik defisiti olmayan ve stabil olarak de¤erlendirilen burst tipi torakolom- ber vertebra k›r›klar›nda, kifliye özel yap›lan torakolumbosakral ortez tedavisinin etkinli¤inin araflt›r›l- mas› amaçlanm›flt›r. Çal›flma plan›: Denis s›n›fland›rmas›na göre torakolomber (T11-L2) burst tipi vertebra k›r›¤› nedeni ile 2002-2009 y›llar› aras›nda konservatif tedavi uygulanan 26 hasta (14 erkek; 12 kad›n; ortalama yafl: 46.03, da¤›l›m: 18-64) çal›flmaya al›nd›. On iki hastada yüksekten düflme (%46.2), yedi hastada araç içi trafik kazas› (%26.9), dört hastada araç d›fl› trafik kazas› (%15.4) ve üç hastada basit düflme (%11.5) etiyolojik neden olarak saptand›. Hastalar›n hiçbirinde nörolojik defisit yoktu ve MRG ile yap›lan de- ¤erlendirmede posterior ligamentöz komplekste hasar bulunmamaktayd›. Hastalar›n klinik de¤erlen- dirmesinde Denis’in a¤r› ve fonksiyonel skorlamalar› kullan›ld›. Radyolojik de¤erlendirmede k›r›k son- ras› ve takiplerde bölgesel kifoz aç›s›, sagital indeks ve yükseklik kayb› yüzdesi ölçülüp istatistiksel ola- rak k›yasland›. Ortalama takip süresi 48.5 (da¤›l›m: 12-77) ayd›. Bulgular: Son kontrolde a¤r› skoru ortalamas› 1.65, fonksiyonel skor ortalamas› 1.15 olarak bulundu. Yir- mi hastan›n travma öncesi ifl veya aktivitelerine aynen, alt› hastan›n da hafif k›s›tlamalarla geri döndü¤ü sap- tand›. Ortalama ifle dönüfl süresi 3.64 (da¤›l›m: 2-6) ay olarak saptand›.
