Effects Of 8-Week Exercise Program On Biomotor Features, Respiration And Circulation Parameters In Amateur Soccer Players
Objective: Exercise may affect some parameters of respiration and circulation systems, aerobic and
anaerobic powers, speed, flexibility and vertical jumping. Therefore, this study was carried out to investigate
effects of 8-week exercise program on some biomotor features, respiration and circulation parameters in
amateur soccer players.
Materials and Methods: This study was carried out on ten male volunteer soccer players during eight
weeks. Exercise training was performed for an hours per day in three times per week. The footballers had
58.35±1.55 kg body weights, 16.50±2.6 years old and 1.69±0.02 m heights. The values before exercise
programme was used as a control. The values of speed (distance of 50 and 100 m), aerobic and anaerobic
powers, vertical jumping, flexibility, systolic and diastolic blood pressures, pulse rate in rest, pulmonary function test in 15th, 30th, 45th and 60th days were determined and the results were statistically analysed by
SPSS programme.
Results: While the pulse rate in rest were statistically decreased, the mean voluntary ventilation was
increased by exercise. In addition, the values of speed in 50 and 100 m, vertical jumping, flexibility and
aerobic power were statistically affected (P<0.05) by 8-week exercise program.
Conclusion: Exercise programme may increase sportive performance related with speed in 50 and 100 m,
flexibility, vertical jumping, aerobic power, pulse rate in rest and mean voluntary ventilation in amateur
soccer players.
