Abdurrahim Ötkür’ün İz romanı 1980’li yıllarda Uygur toplumunda büyük yankı uyandıran başarılı romanlardan biridir. Romanın başarısının önemli nedenlerinden biri bünyesinde barındırdığı folklorik unsurlardır. Yazar romanda folklorik unsurlardan ustalıkla yararlanmıştır. Dolayısıyla halk romanda kendi düşünce tarzını, inançlarını, örf âdetlerini, geleneklerini ve psikolojisini bulabilmiştir. Bu durum romanın halk arasında çok sevilmesini, tutulmasını sağlamıştır. Bu makalede daha çok romandaki halk edebiyatı unsurları incelenecektir.

İz, a novel by Abdurrahim Otkur, is one of the successful novels which raised repercussions in Uygur society in the 1980s. One of the important reasons lying behind the success of this novel is the folkloric elements it includes. The writer smartly used the folkloric elements, usually folk literature elements in his work. Thereby people can find the traces of their own ways of thinking, beliefs, customs, traditions and psychology in this novel. This situation made the novel İz to be so fond of and to become popular among Uyghur people. In this paper especially the folk literature elements in this novel will be analyzed.
