Dünya ekonomisinin, özellikle 1980 sonrası döneminde yaşanan temel dönüşümlere referans olarak gösterilen küreselleşme kavramı, mevcut haliyle gerek akademik gerekse politik çevrelerde tartışmaların merkezinde yer alm­ıştır. Söz konusu kavramın bu anlamda sağladığı popülariteye paralel olarak süreç içerisindeki yansımaları da hayli etki yaratmıştır. Bu çalışmada, küre­selleşmenin söz konusu yansımaları ve sonucundaki etkileri bilgi toplumu ve eğitim gibi iki temel düzlemde ele alınmıştır. Buradan hareketle çalışmada, küreselleşme sürecinin yeni bir toplumsal paradigması olan bilgi toplumuna değinilmiş ve küreselleşmenin çok boyutlu bir süreç olduğu gerçeğinden hare­ketle, mevcut süreçte eğitimin neo-liberal politikalarla nasıl yapısal bir dönüşüm gerçekleştirdiğine vurgu yapılmıştır.

The concept of globalization which refers to the transformation of economies especially emerged after 1980 has been the central focus of discussions in both academic and politic environments. The impact of this concept has been examined with different dimensions. From this point of view, this study overviews the results of the globalization process with regard to the information society and educational policies. The study also analyzes the information society as a new social paradigm of globalization and emphasizes how education has been transformed in line with the neoliberal policies in contemporary settings.
