Salgının Ruh Sağlığı Üzerindeki Etkileri

Pandemi bir hastalığın çok sayıda insanı etkilemesi ve birden fazla ülkeye ve kıtaya yayılması durumudur. Pandemi dönemlerinde yetkililer öncelikli olarak hastalığın yayılmasını önlemeye ve fiziksel sağlığı korumaya odaklanmaktadır. Ancak pandemi dönemleri sadece fiziksel sağlığı değil aynı zamanda ruh sağlığını da etkilemektedir. Hatta pandemi sürecinin ruh sağlığı üzerindeki olumsuz etkileri, fiziksel sağlık üzerindeki etkisinden daha çok ve daha uzun süreli olabilmektedir. Bu nedenle pandemi sürecinin toplumlarda yarattığı psikolojik sonuçları anlamak önemlidir. Pandemi sürecinin psikolojik etkilerinin anlaşılması önleyici ve iyileştirici müdahale stratejileri geliştirebilmek açısından yararlı olacaktır. Bu derlemede, mevcut literatür ışığında, pandemi sürecinin ruh sağlığı üzerindeki etkileri, pandeminin psikolojik etkileri açısından riskli gruplar, pandemi sürecinde ruh sağlığını koruma yolları ve pandemi sürecinden psikolojik olarak olumsuz etkilenen bireylere yönelik müdahale stratejileri anlatılmaktadır.

Effects of The Pandemic on Mental Health

A pandemic occurs when a disease affects a large number of people spreading over multiple countries and continents. During the pandemic, the authorities primarily focus on preventing the spread of the disease and protecting physical health. However, pandemic affects both physical health and mental health. Moreover, the negative effects of the pandemic on mental health could be stronger and could last longer than the effects on physical health. Therefore, it is important to understand the psychological consequences of the pandemic in societies. Understanding the psychological effects of the pandemic would be beneficial in terms of developing preventive and curative intervention strategies.
